Who we are

Parrot and this website are run by Launchese Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11878200). For anything about privacy, email squawk@openparrot.app.

What stays on your Mac

Recordings, transcripts, reports, notes, remembered voices, your documents' search index and your settings live on your Mac. API keys you add are kept in your macOS Keychain.

Parrot has no user accounts and sends no usage data, crash reports or analytics. There is no Parrot server to send them to.

What can leave, only when you turn it on

Each of these is off until you switch it on, and goes only to the service you picked, with your own key where one is needed:

• Copilot and reports on Claude or your own server: transcript text, matching passages from your documents and your profile's instructions go to Anthropic or that server.
• Cloud transcription: call audio goes to Groq or Deepgram.
• TypeSafe answers: the question, a couple of lines around it and candidate passages from your documents.
• Ask Parrot with a cloud AI: the few best-matching excerpts and the chat's recent messages go to the AI you chose. With Ollama, nothing leaves.
• Follow-up email drafts: the meeting's transcript goes to your reports AI.
• Webhook: the finished meeting goes to the address you paste.
• Calendar: read on your Mac. With "Brief the copilot from the invite" on, the event's title, guest names and notes go with the Copilot's requests.

Always, and nothing about you

• Model downloads: speech and speaker models from Hugging Face, and some language models from Apple, once, the first time they're needed.
• Update check: once a day Parrot reads its update feed on GitHub Pages. The request carries the app's version and nothing else.

Claude and other AI apps

Parrot can let an AI app on your Mac, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, read your meetings. It works like this:

• Off until you turn on "Allow AI apps to read my meetings" in Parrot. Turning it off cuts the app off on its next request.
• It runs on your Mac. Parrot answers the app's requests locally and makes no network requests of its own.
• The app gets what it asks for when you ask it something, and sends that to its own company under your account: Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for Codex, and the model provider you use in Cursor. Their privacy policies cover what they receive.
• You choose what it can see: transcripts, reports and notes are shared, Copilot cards are not, until you change them, and you can hide whole call types.
• Never shown: meetings marked on-device only, audio, API keys and settings.
• Read-only: it can't change, delete or record anything. The one file it can write is a copy of a meeting you ask it to save, in Downloads/Parrot Exports.
• Parrot keeps a count of how many times an app read your meetings today, when it last did, and the name the app gives itself, on your Mac, to show you. Never what was read.

One switch for nothing leaving

On-device only turns all of the above off at once, for every call or for one call profile. Those meetings also stay out of AI apps, webhooks and cloud answers later on.

This website

• It's hosted on Vercel, which handles each request (including your IP address) to serve the page.
• It counts visits with Google Analytics, only after you click OK on the cookie bar. Google Analytics sets cookies. Your choice is kept in this browser, and "Cookie choices" in the footer changes it.
• There are no accounts or forms.

Your data and your choices

Everything Parrot stores is on your Mac, so you control it: delete a meeting, set automatic clean-up for audio or old meetings, or remove the app. What you sent to a service you connected is covered by that service's own policy.

We may update this page when Parrot changes what it sends. The date at the top says when it last changed.
